Today is a HUGE day in our world.
In our collective world as Upili and Next Step Foundation.

๐Ÿ‘‰ It’s one of those days you prepare for (and scrutinize the aforementioned preparations to be certain there aren’t mistakes).

๐Ÿ‘‰ One of those weekends you plan for (and plan and plan to ensure nothing has been forgotten).

And it’s here.

Today, thanks to many of you, our Upili Pilot Program, an audacious endeavor bringing Counselors with Disabilities into special secondary schools to empower Students with Disabilities, launches at S.A Joytown Secondary School.

Statistics show there exists a mental health crisis among Youth with Disabilities in Kenya and *today* Upili takes aim to reshape this narrative.

We invite you to join us on this journey of therapeutic impact.

๐Ÿ‘‰ To learn about our four-fold Theory of Change designed to cater to the immediate psychosocial needs of students while concurrently establishing a robust support structure.

๐Ÿ‘‰ To meet our talented Senior Counselor, Catherine Njoroge

๐Ÿ‘‰ To connect with the Africa Team making this possible: Mariam Ndegwa, Bethsalel Wauna, WANJUGU MUHINDI, Peter Simiyu.

And, perhaps most importantly, to read the stories of our students, school administrators and parents/caregivers as they, too, journey alongside us.

Today is the start of something powerfully big and we at Upili could not be prouder.
