Customer Care Training Program
Program Overview ?
The program is a strategic collaboration between a leading customer contact center and the Next Step Foundation (NSF). It introduces a specialized training initiative designed to equip Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) with essential customer service skills. Our joint goal is to support the professional growth of motivated individuals and facilitate their successful integration into the workforce. Those who complete all stages of the screening process and excel in the training will have the opportunity to be considered for customer care roles within participating customer contact centers.
Program Goal
The primary goal of this program is to equip qualified individuals with the necessary training and support to secure employment opportunities in customer care.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for this program is a motivated and articulate Person with a Disability (PWD) who meets the following criteria:
- Age: 18 – 35 years old
- Education: At least a Form 4 education, with a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in the English language, with strong spoken fluency, accurate grammar, clear diction, and a neutral accent
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Shift Availability: Willing and able to work both day and night shifts
- Customer Service Skills: Strong customer service or sales orientation
- Typing Proficiency: Able to type at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute (WPM)
- Mobility & Flexibility: Willing to attend all in-person training sessions at designated training locations and able to navigate standard computer interfaces and environments independently
- Commitment: Prepared to complete the partner’s screening and evaluation process
- Employment Goal: Actively seeking employment in a customer care role upon successful program completion
- Transportation: Must arrange own transportation to and from training locations
- Technical Capability: Able to record and upload a 1-minute video of themselves, demonstrating communication skills
